A Little Lego Adventure

A Little Lego Adventure
The Lego minifigure Sim was driving the Lego Super Chief along on a bright sunny day. The Super Chief was an all "snoozer" train going Chicago-Los Angeles. It would take two and a half days to travel the 2,222 mile trip, but he had a dependable assistant engineer named Bill.

Everything was going along fine a few hours into the journey. Sim had his feet up on the heater and was sprawled all over the seat. Then he remembered two things: he had had to use a different mechanic instead of his usual Casey, and he had lost his French fry.

That French fry.

Its warm crispness, its crackles, and its deliciousness. O, that sting of way too much salsa, how it would explode his taste buds....

Suddenly, back in the engine room, ffffiiiiizzzzlllllllll BOOOM!!! Sparks were flying every where. Sim was stuck. He could not think. He did not know what to do.

Then, out of the window, out of the noise, from a pasture he heard: hee-haw hee-haw-haw-haw-haw-haw. Then he saw it - a beautiful black donkey, with long ears, a white nose and underbelly, and a log yellow stripe on either side.

And then the man knew what to do. He picked up his radio and called up the bouncer. He told Bill the situation and to come as quickly as possible. Then while waiting for Bill, he called up the next station and told them to expect some delays, and lowered the train to Run 1.

After a minute Bill opened the door at the back of the engine room. He quickly absorbed precisely what had happened and donned his pair of rubber gloves. Bill found the short, turned off the electrictiy, and taped the wire up with a roll of black tape.

The problem had been that an old power wire for the secondary headlight had been chewed upon by a mouse that had gotten in when the other mechanic had left the door open.

Anyway it was soon and easily fixed with that black tape and all was fine for the rest of the journey.

Later, in the L.A. Station, Sim was talking to the stationmaster:

"By the way, who was the assistant mechanic?"

"Oh, him? I think his name was Attila."

"Thanks, and one more thing. Who was that donkey?"

The stationmaster said, "Corin."
